THIS WALL HANGING HAS BEEN DESIGNED AND MADE TO COMMEMORATE
THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF WORLD WAR 1
AND FUNDED BY THE HOLME VALLEY PARISH COUNCIL .
THIS LARGE FELTED HANGING WAS MADE FROM CARDED SHEEP’S FLEECE

BY MEMBERS OF THE HOLME VALLEY TEXTILE GROUP.
THE GROUP WANTED TO HAVE A LOCAL CONNECTION AND TO INCLUDE IMAGES OF CASTLE HILL AND HOLME MOSS MAST AS WELL AS LARGE COLOURFUL POPPIES AND SUBTLE IMAGES OF SOLDIERS EMERGING FROM THE FOLIAGE.
