Hello reader

Welcome to the new Feltwest Committee.

Our committee has 3 new members - Bec Suardana, Di Downer & Susan Sheppard. We welcome them and look forward to working on many things together.
It was a great turn out for the AGM with some very special moments. We were so pleased to be able to present Liz Odd - one of our Lifetime members - with her Lifetime Member badge. Scroll down for some lovely images.
We also heard of the brilliant program that Diny Monaghan has been instrumental in implementing for Feltwest. Diny has been interviewing and documenting the felting life of our long term Members. She then turns that interview into beautiful books of which we gift one to the felter and another for our Library. Diny's work is so important in documenting Feltwest's history and acknowledging those who have been involved in for so long.

Facebook Group

One of the things that has come from our recent survey was a response for more online involvement. To that end we have created a Feltwest Members Group on Facebook.
This is different from our current page - which is really a business page and we will continue to post info there - this one is a group for members only, where you can post and interact with each other. Think of it as an online Toss n Tell. As it will be for Members Only there is a question you must answer to be admitted to the group. Once you are admitted your posts will appear immediately. The answer for the Question appears at the top of our Members Area on our web site. Copy and paste it into the answer box. We hope to have all kinds of activities in the group and are currently exploring the technology and our options. Join now and stay tuned. Here's the link to the Group: Feltwest Members Group
There are 3 spots left for Sue's Perfectly Perky Pouches - great opportunity to make a quality bag with beautiful edges and handles!

There are spaces left for Craters and Fine Laying for Nuno. Being Skill Extension Workshops they are 3 hours long with a fantastic tutor to student ratio to ensure your best opportunity to learn the technique.

Skill Extension – Fine laying for Nuno Wearables

Explore the options for creating fine drapeable wearables using fine laying techniques. The main reason wearables have no flow or lightness is due to too much wool. But don’t I need those 2 thick layers? The simple answer is No! Come along and learn how it is done.

Felted craters can be so much fun, they can be hollow, or erupting with felt or other textiles and give a fabulous deep and earthy texture to felt wall hangings or sculptures. Join us to make a felt sample with a variety of filled and hollow craters. This workshop will give participants the skills to make a larger piece using these new techniques.
