Hello reader

Congratulations on completing a Beginners workshop.

You are probably wondering what should I do now? First of all, practice. Start making things. The more you felt the more finesse you will achieve. Here are our suggestions for your felt journey.

Get togethers

We have 2 regular get togethers. Toss n Tell on the 3rd Saturday of every month is a structured meeting where we share what we have been creating, have demos and activities, talk about all the up coming workshops and events, and have popup shops by our WA suppliers. We also have a library of books, magazines, and equipment that can be borrowed at Toss n Tell.
The second is our 1st Tuesday of every month. This day is an informal day of felting - where you can felt, chat and share with other felters with a wide range of experience and expertise. Set up a table and start felting.

Workshops

We have a program called Skill Extensions where you can learn more techniques that can be applied to many felted items. This is a great program to start after your beginners workshop as these workshops are the same format as the beginners workshop you just completed; 3 hours long, great student tutor ratio, and all materials included. There are generally 5 to 6 of these workshops programmed each year from the dozen different skills and techniques covered. Always check the Home page of our website to see what’s happening each year. These sessions are great value at $50 and are booked through the website under Member Bookings. You can use your $10 welcome voucher against any of these sessions.
The aim of the Skills Extension Program is to give you the skills, techniques, and most importantly the confidence to enroll in one of our regular project orientated workshops. Each year we program in 10 workshops with experienced tutors in which the participants can create and finish a project. Be it a scarf, wrap, vessel, rug, hat, or slippers, the aim is to go home with a finished item. Typically, these workshops are 1 to 2 days but some larger projects may be longer. All of these workshops are also available on the Home page of the website. Each event will have a recommended experience level, estimated cost of the materials you need to purchase (if you had to buy everything), and if there is a small payment to the tutor for shared or specialist items. We endeavour to keep all of our workshops as low in cost as possible.

We hope this helps you in deciding what to do next and we look forward to seeing you at our events.
