Fingerless Gloves with Cynda Empsall
Make some beautiful warm, felted fingerless gloves for yourself or as a gift for someone.
Fine merino wool, add silk or thread if you like with the option to stitch later to embellish. They can be a simple practical or an eye catching accessory. Make one pair first then let your creativity lead you thereafter.
Participant Experience Level:
Participants should be experienced in laying out wool and producing even layered felt. Experience in felting around a resist is desirable.
I have worked for a community arts organization since 2012 supporting individuals in furthering their arts practice. My work has appeared in Stitched and Bound, Castaways and Sculpture By the Bay in more recent years and a recent passion over the last 5 years is eco dyeing.
After being fascinated by a fabulous Feltwest group exhibition at Midland Junction Arts Centre, I joined Feltwest in 2018 and continued as a committee member for several years.
Whilst participating in many Feltwest workshops, maths calculations have tended to confuse me so I often make ‘guesstimates’ and with this workshop you will learn what you can get away with.
