Hello reader
Next Toss n Tell October 15th were are having a mini exhibition of the unsold works from Marks Over Time. It will be a chance for you to come see the beautiful pieces and hear direct from the makers, their story and intent. Please invite your family and friends as this will be an open door day to show our wonderful craft. The Mini Exhibition will be 10am - 12pm - we would love to see you all.

A special mention and big thank you!

To our wonderful Workshop Host - Fleur Riley. Fleur is the perfect host, she is always there to help out, takes photos, write up comments, provide amazing morning tea, and is generally there when you need her. We really appreciate you Fleur!

Discovery Days

We are in the process of revamping the first Tuesday work days for 2023. Free felting work will still be the main aim but we are developing a new program for some exploration and discovery of natural dyes, eco printing and shibori techniques.
These wonderful activities often require large equipment and facilities that we don't necessarily have at home but we do have at Craft House. The days will consist of activities, discussion and tuition, and sharing of knowledge. Stay tuned for more details over the summer months.

Perth Makers Market November 6th

Toss n Tell will also be the first delivery day for the markets. Receival will be before 10am or after 12pm. Links to the full instructions and payment are on the Members Area page under Members in the menu.

As always remember to log in.

That's all for now but grab a cuppa and scroll down for some images from Soosie's Jewellery workshop, a review by Diny on one of our latest library acquisitions and a peak into our extensive archive.

Jewellery Making with Soosie

by Fleur Riley

What a fun day. Who knew that all those tiny pieces of leftover felt and precious pieces could be turned into such beautiful jewellery.
The imagination could go wild and your end piece of jewellery is unique to you.
Remember to keep any leftover felt for future use.

New in the Library

Nani Iro - A Year of Sewing with Nani Iro. ( Japanese Dressmaker) 2022.
This book was recommended by our new Life Member Jan Stroud. The book has 18 patterns for various garments, including full size patterns for them ( to be copied). Jan said she thought the book would make a good addition to the Feltwest library for those interested in felting garments because of the quite simple but effective styles. The garments include tunics, vests, short sleeved tops and shirts. Anyone interested in making garments using felt will get inspiration from this book. It doesn’t look so hard ! Most are simple styles and can easily be adapted for felt. The patterns of course need to be enlarged to account for shrinkage of wool. This was a very enjoyable and inspiring book and it will be great to see some garments made from it by members in the future.
